7 Natural Remedies to Lighten Dark Lips

Notice some dark spots or patches on your lips? I do, on mine. I drink iced-cappuccino almost every day. Take a closer look on this picture of me without lipstick.

One of the main causes of dark lips is sun exposure. Others like allergies, smoking, caffeine intake (coffee, tea and Coke!) and hormonal imbalances can result in ugly, dark lips. So I am here to share how this 7 natural remedies can help you lighten your pout!

Honey has many beauty benefits! Do you know it can soften lips and give your lips a pink glow? Apply honey all over your lips and leave it overnight. I know it is really hard not to lick it off your lips, but you have to do it if you want beautiful lips!

Strawberry and Vaseline
Make your very own natural lip balm using strawberry and Vaseline! A passenger from Australia once shared this with me and I find it pretty effective. The one disadvantage is that you probably can use this mixture for a week. I recommend to make a portion enough for a week and remember to store the mixture in the refrigerator!

With life give you lemon, use it on your lips!
Lemon is one of my favorite fruit. Did you know you also can use it to naturally lighten dark lips? It is used commonly to treat darker patches and spots of skin, and it works the same for your lips! Cut the lemon into half, gently massage it on your lips. Leave the lemon juice on your lips overnight. Don’t waste the other half and the rest of the lemon. The next morning, mix some warm water with the lemon and drink it to for glowing skin.

Natural Oil
We are talking about oil like olive oil, tea tree oil, clove oil or even mustard oil! You can find it in all supermarket or even at home! Olive oil is the best among the others and I like its aroma. Apply one of these oils onto your lips before going to sleep and leave it overnight for best result!

Natural Oil Lip Balm
Another natural remedy, I learnt it from a India friend. Mix castor oil (vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the castor plant) and almond oil together and massage your lips with the mixture. Do this before you sleep and leave it overnight. It will make your lips glow with a natural pink.

Ice, ice BABY!
Yes ice! I have been doing it since a young girl and I am sure you’ve done it too! Massage your lips with ice cubes, whenever, wherever. It will soothes the lips, keep it nourished, moisturized and fresh.

Drink lots of Water
We lose moisture from our lips, so we need to drink at least 8 glasses of water to replenish the moisture loss. It is to keep the level of moisture balanced. By doing it, we also rid off all the toxins in our body. How awesome is that! Start reminding yourself to have enough water intake daily for beautiful lips and healthy body!

I like to apologize for the delay of post. My partner, Shirlene and I are still working on some details on how can we bring you the latest news on beauty and lips! Do stay tune and hope you all have an awesome week ahead!

Monday – Random

This is just a random post since I took some pictures today. The past week, we decided to turn the balcony in the bedroom into a mini office so we can work from home. Right now, we are still building the block for our really small trading company. We named it Luxuria Mercor which means Luxury Trade in Latin. It is still new and I am inexperience. Every day is all about learning something new right? And here goes, the pictures…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Boyfriend trying to refill his gas lighter and looking all irritated.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHere is a picture of me, yawning so we decided to drive over to Toby’s Estate at Robertson Quay for my daily dosage of iced-cappuccino.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI am craving for some eggs badly, at almost 2 in the afternoon.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADespite of not having foundation because I am working from home. I did my brows, draw my eyeliner and not forgetting my lipstick before I head out.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnd also my CANMAKE cream cheek! I applied it on my bare face so I won’t look so pale.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAClose-up of my lips. I am using Bangkok from NARS, which I bought from the NARS counter in the airport while I was holidaying in Bangkok earlier this year. Its matte, light rose pink color is good for everyday girly look, but a few application is required to achieve the desired color from this lipstick. I usually do not apply a layer of gloss because I prefer a matte look.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs usual, my casual style. It’s great when you work for yourself cos’ NO DRESS CODE!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABoyfriend’s monthly read, MONOCLE. You should grab a copy at your nearby bookstore or magazine stand. I too enjoy their contents especially their perspectives on fashion, travel and cuisines.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMy Eggs Benedict with prosciutto ham and iced-cappuccino! Good portion, just nice for me.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnd finally, ending this post with a picture of boyfriend and I. Have a good week ahead people!

CANMAKE Cream Cheek

Hello all! How’s your weekend so far? I had an awesome time with my friends on Friday Night (Pretty wasted from Sake and Champagne). Hence, this Saturday I am spending my time at home recuperating from hangover and also blog on a product I got for myself from Watson last week!

I have always been a fan of Japanese cosmetics, since I first started using makeup at 16 years old. CANMAKE offers a range of good quality cosmetics at an affordable price. I bought a cream-based blusher from CANMAKE called Cream Cheek. This product was introduced by a friend of mine, Shirlene. She mentioned this cream-based blusher stays throughout the whole day, leaving a dewy-fresh look.

Look! Lena Fujii is the spokesperson for CANMAKE Cream Cheek, which is probably one of the reason I bought the product. She has been my idol since I was a teenager and I want to look like her so much!!! Anyway, it comes in 10 shades (although you only see 6 shades in the picture) so you definitely can find a shade for your skin tone.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANotice something missing on my face canvas in this photo? Yes, no blusher! I will show you what is the best way to use this cream cheek from CANMAKE.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIt has a compact size and fits anywhere, from jeans pocket to pouches to small handbag.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI will be using this shade and CL04 is the code. All products from CANMAKE is made in Japan!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAUse your index finger and tap on cream cheek. Apply to your lower cheek bone by dabbing gentle upwards, or you can use the pressing a stamp onto a piece of paper method at the same spot.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOkay, you probably will look like you accidentally go over your cheek with a pink lipstick.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABlend it upwards to the highest point of your cheekbone. See the difference?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAA close-up shot. It looks pretty natural I thought.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANot forgetting lipstick in this post, I am wearing Freckletone from M.A.C. I love this nude tone so much I have 3 of them, afraid M.A.C will discontinue this product.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADo the same for the other cheek and blend it well to make sure both side look even.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnd this is how I look after cream cheek! Alive me!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnother shot of me with some natural sunlight! It does give you a dewy refreshing look right?

I love the texture of this cream blush, and I find it by far the most pigmented cream blush I used. It is long-lasting and doesn’t leave my cheek greasy after a long day. I love the packaging too! You ladies should add this to your blush range, what do you think?

Here wishing you a fabulous weekend wherever you are! Xxx

Going Coral with GOSH Lipstick

Hello there! I might be the only one reading this post at the moment, but I know it will be all worth while in months to come. I haven’t been blogging for years, so I will start by sharing with you my life as a…can’t find a word to put here at the moment. But I will be talking about things I like and also, doing some product reviews especially on lips!  I am mad about lipsticks, totally!

Hence, the second post here, I like to talk about lipstick! Coral will be the color! There are many lovely coral shades of lipsticks but in this post, I picked Shocking Coral from GOSH Cosmetics.

GOSH Cosmetics have arrived in Singapore and available in all SASA Outlets. This brand is based from Denmark. In Asia, we have been seeing many Korean cosmetics in the local market so when I spotted GOSH Cosmetics with a friend in SASA, I pop in the shop and bought a lipstick.

Camera 360I chose Coral because it is one color I never own. I have a natural tanned skin, which I thought I can carry almost all the bright colored lipstick. Yes, always be bold with colors! Your face is a canvas for beauty!

Camera 360Apologized for the flaw on the lipstick. When I bought it, the content was flawless but I realized I forgot to take a picture of it before I used it. That explain for the uneven texture seen on the tip.

Camera 360The Code Number is 145.

This is not how I usually pout my lips to apply lipstick, just to show I applied GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick on my lips.

Camera 360This lipstick has a creamy texture, but it feels just nice for the climate in Singapore. My lips feels moist and the color still stays after several hours. I didn’t use any lipliner before application, and it didn’t smudge at all after blabbering non-stop and drink a few sip of water from the mug. For the price I paid, the quality is good!

Camera 360Remember, whenever you use bright colored lipstick, always try to go with a light eye makeup. Do not over do it!

Alright, signing off here!

Coral kisses,
